Privacy policy

What the app processes

Reel Screen Recorder records your device screen, your microphone, app or system audio, and your camera — only while you have started a recording, and only the sources you have enabled. Camera frames are processed on the device to draw the floating, Picture-in-Picture and pop-out overlays. If you choose an image background, that file is read from your library to compose the scene.

Your preferences — quality tier, orientation lock, camera mode, audio levels — are stored locally on the device.

Where recordings live

On your device: the photo library on iOS, a folder you choose on Mac. Reel has no server of its own and never uploads, stores or sees a recording. Sharing a recording is something you do, with the apps you choose.

Advertising in the free version

The free version shows advertisements between sessions through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect the device advertising identifier, approximate location derived from IP address, and usage signals to serve and measure ads, under Google's privacy policy. Reel does not add anything to what AdMob collects and does not see the data it gathers.

On iOS, whether ads may be personalised is governed by your App Tracking Transparency choice; the app respects it. Pro removes advertising and, with it, the AdMob SDK's activity in the app.

Purchases

Pro is sold through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple handles payment; Reel never receives your card details. Restoring a purchase asks Apple what you own — nothing is stored with us, because there is no us to store it with.

Permissions

The app asks for camera, microphone, photo-library and screen-recording access only for the features that need them, at the moment you first use each. Every permission can be changed later in system settings; a denied permission limits the related feature and nothing else.

Sharing

Reel does not sell personal data and does not share it, other than the AdMob activity described above and whatever Apple services you explicitly use. Data may be disclosed where the law requires it.

Your controls

Delete recordings and imported backgrounds from your device at any time. Change permissions in iOS or macOS settings. Manage or cancel Pro in your Apple ID subscription settings. Remove ads entirely by purchasing Pro.
