Check a recording app purchase without buying twice

Before paying again for an upgrade, confirm the app and purchasing account, find the transaction and use the app’s restore control. A completed restore request does not by itself prove that an active entitlement was found.

1. Confirm which app you paid for

Many screen recorders have similar names and icons. Reel: Screen Recorder Face Cam is published by Arte Soft Ltd. Check the app’s developer against your Apple receipt before restoring. A purchase in a different recorder does not unlock Reel.

2. Find the purchase in your Apple Account

Apple’s purchase history guide gives device and web routes. On iPhone or iPad, open the App Store account button, then Apps & Purchase History and Purchase History. On a Mac, open the App Store account page, then Apps & Purchase History and Purchase History. On the web, use reportaproblem.apple.com. Search by the charged amount if you do not recognize an item, and check a different purchasing Apple Account if necessary.

For subscriptions, Apple’s subscriptions guide says to open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions on iPhone, or the App Store account page on Mac. If you can’t find it, Apple suggests searching your email for “receipt from Apple” or “invoice from Apple” to see which account was charged.

3. Make sure you are signed in to that account

Apple’s restore guidance says to make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy, and that in-app purchases are allowed on the device. Screen Time restrictions can block in-app purchases.

4. Restore in the app

Apple recommends opening the app in which you purchased and finding its restore option. In Reel, open Pro in the main toolbar, then choose Restore Purchases. The app asks the App Store to synchronize and refreshes verified entitlements. Afterwards, check whether Pro is active: a “Restore completed” message alone does not mean an eligible purchase was found. Consumables cannot be restored, and an expired subscription is different from a missing lifetime purchase.

Worked example: Reel Pro on a new iPhone

The same applies if you want Pro on a Mac or iPad as well as an iPhone: try restoring on that device with the same Apple Account before paying again, and ask the developer if it does not appear.

  1. Confirm the app is Reel: Screen Recorder Face Cam by Arte Soft Ltd.
  2. Check Purchase History for Reel and note whether the purchase was a monthly subscription, yearly subscription or lifetime option.
  3. If it was a subscription, check Settings > your name > Subscriptions to see that it is active.
  4. On the new iPhone, sign in to the same Apple Account in the App Store.
  5. Open Pro in Reel’s main toolbar, choose Restore Purchases, and check the resulting Pro status.
  6. If Pro still isn’t active, don’t buy again. Contact the developer with the date and order ID from your purchase history.

If you were charged but have nothing

Apple says that if you were charged and still can’t restore the purchase, contact the app developer or report a problem to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If the receipt shows a family member’s account, Apple notes that only that account can manage the subscription.

Will deleting and reinstalling the app restore my purchase?

Do not delete the app as a first troubleshooting step, especially if it holds recordings you need. Reinstalling does not replace the restore step. Sign in to the same Apple Account and use the app’s restore option.

Can I restore a purchase from one recorder in a different recorder?

No. Purchases belong to the app you bought them in.
